Job Purpose

Responsibility for assisting with the smooth running of production and planning. Including the planning of work launched, daily production and despatch priorities and managing all remake orders.
Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Launch urgent works throughout the day in a timely manner with optimal optimisation, using off-cuts where appropriate.
  • Continually use initiative and explore all options to meet customers’ needs and delivery dates.
  • Keep G-Trak up to date with the works in the system that need to be completed, including programming the dates of each process required.
  • Update throughout the day with process that are completed via GTrak.
  • Launch all orders into production with clear processing dates, ensuring that production are clear on any works that need to be manufactured outside of standard lead times.
  • Report any production issues to Planning & Procurement Manager.
  • Use discretion to alter processing dates to facilitate timely manufacture of all works where delivery dates are unaffected.
  • Work closely with procurement to ensure glass and hardware arrive at destination at the appropriate time in the most cost-effective way possible.
  • Provide sickness/holiday cover for Procurement.
  • Launch all remakes as urgent works throughout the day in a timely manner with optimal optimisation, using off-cuts where appropriate.
  • Recording root cause for all remakes.
  • Analyse and produce trend data to other departments to eliminate errors and improve performance
  • Communicating with procurement, Installation and sales the issues and associated remake dates.
  • Plan the launching of the glass involved in-line with the fitting schedule, ensuring highest optimisation levels possible are achieved.
  • Work closely with procurement to ensure sufficient stock to meet orders.
  • Maintain a control sheet for all glass for each project, ensuring despatch has signed them out as they are despatched to site.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the sector, companies within the sector and the products associated markets
  • High school degree; additional qualifications is a plus.
