Responsibility for assisting with the smooth running of production planning. Including the planning of work launched, daily production and dispatch priorities.

Key Tasks:


  • Launch urgent works throughout the day in a timely manner with optimal optimisation, using off-cuts where appropriate.
  • Work closely with procurement officer to ensure glass and hardware are available by the delivery date.
  • Continually use initiative and explore all options to meet customers’ needs and delivery dates.
  • Keep G-Trak up to date with the works in the system that need to be completed, including programming the dates of each process required.
  • Launch all orders into production with clear processing dates, ensuring that production are clear on any works that need to be manufactured outside of standard lead times.
  • Report any production issues to the Production Manager immediately.
  • Use discretion to alter processing dates to facilitate timely manufacture of all works where delivery dates are unaffected.
  • Responsibility for recording and relaunching all remakes. Liaising with Installation and sales to rebook the work ensuring the highest possible customer service. All remakes are to be processed as quick as possible on a priority basis.
  • Produce and update weekly errors database for the company
  • Clearly communicate with sales where any work is delayed including the resolution for the delays
  • Work with Sales/projects to plan the launching of the glass for large works in-line with the fitting schedule, ensuring highest optimisations levels possible and maximum production efficiency achieved
  • Update capacity spreadsheet daily recording works planned and works completed for each process.


  • Proven experience in a similar field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Multi-tasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Crisis management skills
  • Knowledge of the sector, companies within the sector and the products associated market
  • GCSE’s (Maths & English C or above)
  • Additional qualifications is a plus
