Post:                           Installer (Full Time position, 40 hrs per week)

Responsible to:         Installation Manager

Responsible for:       Installation of Abbey Glass products/systems

 Main Purpose:           Responsibility for the installation of Abbey Glass products/systems to the highest quality standards whilst being an advocate for Abbey glass and adhering to health and safety standards.

Key Tasks: 


  • Carry out installations across the UK for durations ranging from single site attendance (1-2hours) through to 5 day installs as part of 1-6 person teams.
  • Liaise with site agents and project managers on site, ensuring effective communication and good working relationships.
  • Liaise with all domestic customers ensuring calls are made one hour before arrival, ensuring that the customer is fully informed on the works that will be undertaken before beginning work.
  • Quality control of all product received into vans rejecting any product that does not meet company standards. Loading vehicles, the day before works are schedules where possible.
  • Quality control of all finished product installed onsite, reporting to the office any issues or defects as soon as noticed.
  • Complete works within agreed timescales notifying the installation team where this is not possible as soon as practicably possible.
  • Ensure a signed customer satisfaction form is signed by the customer at the end of the installation recording all relevant information and follow up actions.
  • At all times provide accurate paperwork that provides all the relevant information required in a clear and concise way. Where measures are completed the paperwork should contain clear fitting instructions, dimensions, commentary on access/special installation instructions.
  • Provide the installation team photographs of all jobs undertaken.
  • Call the office to confirm attendance at site and call to confirm leaving site.
  • Maintain the highest standards of customer service at all times, whilst being an advocate for Abbey Glass.
  • Promote best practice on health and safety matters
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Wear the correct PPE at all times relevant to environment and RAMS issued
  • Ensure that all tools are in good working order at all times
  • Ensure all certificates (CSCS, IPAF, SMSTS, SSSTS etc) are up to date.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times in line with the company workwear.


  • Observe the rules of the road and drive in a safe manner at all times.
  • Load vehicle the day before where possible.
  • Maintain the delivery vehicle completing a vehicle check sheet before leaving with the van and when returning with the van at the end of the day. Reporting any vehicle defects as they arise.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle inside and out. Ensuring the vehicle is presentable at all time and free of rubbish.
  • Wash vehicle once a week as a minimum.


Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time by the company.
